If you like LEGO you’ll love Robotics camp!

As a young programmer and engineer you’ll build machines out of LEGO parts - including gears, wheels, motors, lights, sound elements and a variety of sensors - then hook them to a computer and control them with programs you write yourself.

Parents: All Robotics courses are an excellent introduction to programming and require no computer or Lego experience. In addition to learning how robots interact with their environment, students will learn programming basics that even include designing a GUI (graphical user interface) so parents can control their kid's robots at the end of camp Open House.

(recommended for ages 10-13, min. completed Gr.3)

New for 2014! Using LEGO’s® newest MINDSTORMS EV3 Base Set and Software, your team will explore the exciting world of robotics! Kids create robots that can interact with their environment and solve a variety of challenges by adding a variety of sensors and motors. Kids are given a variety of design problems that are fun and challenging with a competition at the end of camp.

2014 Winners

[Please note: that Level I is not a prerequisite. The Robotics EV3 camp has a greater emphasis on the building/engineering aspects of robotics and has more sophisticated programming problems to solve. We use the Educational version so robots bulit and available sensors are a bit different than the retail version, but the basic programming language is the same. In essence the retail version has a focus on fun, while the educational set has a focus on learning.]
